powerful slap, terrified laughter and silence

Ubqari Magazine - October 2015

one day uncle was in Gopal’s house since noon. It was evening now. When my maternal grandfather returned and he asked my grandma about uncle, he was told that uncle was in Gopal’s house. My grandfather got irritated and said its too late now, call him back. Don’t let him there for so long. My grandma went and called out for him but there was no reply.

Respected Hakeem sahib assalam o alaikum! I am quite sure that people will not believe the incidence that I am writing today. They may think that I am playing with words but this is 100% true and based on reality and my mother is a witness to it and Alhumdulillah she is alive today. This incidence has been told by my maternal grandmother to my mother.
Our grandfather Hazrat respected Waheed uddin was a very pious man. He used to treat the people possessed by jinns by reciting surah muzammil. Similarly my grandma was also a pious and God fearing woman. My grandfather was famous in nearby areas. There was a hindu named Gopal who was my grandfather’s neighbor. One day he came to my grandfather. My grandfather met him nicely and asked the reason for his visit. He said that he has come to know from somewhere that there is a treasure buried in back of my grandfather’s house. If my grandfather agrees to it that then they can both become millionaires. On listening to it my grandfather became very angry and stood up and got him out of the house saying that we have been blessed with everything by Almighty Allah, such treasures are possessed and guarded by jinns. We don’t want to do anything, Gopal went back dejectedly. My grandma also stopped talking to him. One day while they were having dinner after maghrib, Gopal came making hue and cry on the doorsteps and started crying at my grandfather feet. Grandfather and grandma were astonished; Gopal said he had a dream that he should become a muslim. Grandfather hugged him with happiness and said that this is wonderful thing and took him to the prayer leader of the mosque and made him recite kalma. Grandfather was very happy that a Hindu had converted to Islam. Gopal’s wife and daughter also converted to islam. Grandfather and grandma also gave them gifts. Actually Gopal had played an act of becoming Muslim. Some Hindu pundit had told him that if he sacrifices a Muslim’s blood, the treasure can be yours and if the Muslim is a young child, all the more better. On hearing this, Gopal made this devilish plan so that he could sacrifice my uncle. He played an act of becoming Muslim to gain my grandfather’s trust so that he could sacrifice my uncle. My uncle was cute and healthy 4 year old boy. Gopal’s daughter would take him to her house quite frequently. Grandma would not object as they had become Muslims. One day uncle was in Gopal’s house since noon. It was evening now. When my maternal grandfather returned and he asked my grandma about uncle, he was told that uncle was in Gopal’s house. My grandfather got irritated and said it’s too late now, call him back. Don’t let him there for so long. My grandma went and called out for him but there was no reply. Grandma and grandpa got worried and went outside to see, the door was shut by a lock. They got to know through neighbors that Gopal had gone to the village. Grandma fainted. Grandfather got up, did ablution, offered prayers and recited something with his eyes closed. His face lit up. He had a worrisome look on his face. He opened his eyes with a start and left hurriedly, saying, “I’ll be back soon”. He went towards the graveyard which was at a small distance. It was a dark and scary night. There was an old Banyan tree near the graves. At that place, grandpa saw my uncle near the banyan tree. His head was shaved, wearing a big yellow gown and was standing calmly with a rope in his hand. He was not scared. The rope went to the other side of the broken and weak wall from his hand and someone had the rope in his hand on the other side. Grandpa understood everything. Only the whisper of Gopal’s spell was echoing in silence of the night. Then grandpa saw a scary and strange ghostly creature running over that rope while screaming. He would come running towards my uncle and then he would return to the other side of the wall while screaming. He sounded insane like he was extremely hungry. Grandma moved ahead hurriedly and tied the rope in uncle’s hand to the tree while reciting ayatulkursi. At that moment grandpa felt that uncle had come out of a trance. He clanged to nana saying “abba g”

Lay down fainted in lap of... meanwhile that dreadful being came on rope with such a fast speed and went back with the same fast speed. This time his shriek was dreadful and heart piercing. Grandfather was reciting the Quranic verses in loud voice in a meanwhile the powerful slap's voice shacked the graves and then came a loud laughter and then it becomes silence. Grandfather doesn’t know about his coming back home. next morning the dead body of was found in graveyard and it was white like white cloth it seems that even the last drop of blood is taken out from the body. There was a slap on the face of body by a being other than human that was just because of reaching of grandfather in time and the barakah of Quranic verses. Otherwise that slap was going to be on the innocent cheeks of uncle. Gopal's wife spoke the truth later that Gopal went man in the lust of money. It was just everlasting Quran that the life of uncle is saved.
